This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions Inc. collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the https://www.pacificmergers.com (each, a “Site”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Sites and all products and services offered by Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions Inc.

Personal identification information

The Personal Information Protection Act (“the Act”) regulates the way private sector organizations within British Columbia collect, use, keep, secure and disclose personal information. “Personal Information” means all information about an identifiable individual. We recognize the importance of privacy and recognize the sensitivity of personal information received by us in our normal course of business.

We recognize our professional obligation to maintain the confidentiality of all of our clients’ and customer’s information and recognize our obligations concerning all personal information are exposed to, collect, use or disclose in our business brokerage and M&A practice. This policy has been developed with such obligations in mind.

Our Need for Personal Information

We will not request or gather personal information that is not required in order to perform our work.
In order to be able to provide professional business brokerage and M&A service to our clients and customers, and including business and r property valuations, we may need access to specific relevant facts, data and information that relates to our engagement with you as a client or customer and or obligations we have undertaken with you and or our clients or customers and or for the representation of our clients or customers or listings. Such information may include personal information.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Sites. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Sites, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Sites may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information:

Where practical, we endeavour to collect personal information directly from the person to whom the information pertains. When necessary, we will collect personal information from other sources.
By retaining our services or inquiring about a specific listing or opportunity listed with us, or one requested for us to solicit, or provide specific advice or representation, an individual consents is necessary.

It is our policy to collect any personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

The Act deems that an individual has consented to our collection, use or disclosure of personal information about that individual if, at the time the consent is deemed to be given, the purpose would be considered obvious to a reasonable person. In such circumstances, we will collect, use or disclose personal information without obtaining a written or verbal consent to do so.

The Act also permits us to collect, use or disclose personal information about an individual in some circumstances without the individual’s consent.

When we collect, use or disclose personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure that it is in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

How we use collected information

Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions Inc. may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

  • To improve customer service
    • Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
  • To personalize user experience
    • We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Sites.
  • To improve our Sites
    • We may use feedback you provide to improve our products and services.
  • To run a promotion, contest, survey or other Site feature
    • To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
  • To send periodic emails
    • We may use the email address to send User information and updates. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include news, updates, vendor information and promotions, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
  • As required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the personal safety of our members or the public.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Sites.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Sites or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have not opted-out.

Third party websites

Users may find advertising or other content on our Sites that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Sites. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Sites, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Security of Personal Information

We recognize our professional and legal obligations to protect the confidential information of our clients and customers. We recognize, as well our legal obligations to protect the personal information we have gathered about our clients and customers and any other during the course of our business brokerage and advisory practice.

We have therefore made arrangements to secure against the unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or destruction of personal information.

Requests for Access to Personal Information

The Act permits individuals to submit written requests to us to provide them with:

  • their personal information under our custody or control;
  • information about how their personal information under our control has been and is being used by us;
  • the names of the individuals and organizations to whom their personal information under our control has been disclosed to.

We will respond to such requests in the time allowed by the Act and will make a reasonable effort to assist applicants and to respond as accurately and completely as reasonably possible. All requests may be subject to fees and disbursements costs as allowed under law.

Requests for Correction of Personal Information:

The law permits individuals to submit written requests to us to correct errors or omissions in their personal information that is in our custody or control.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using the Sites, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Sites. Your continued use of the Sites following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Changes to this privacy policy

Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions Inc. have the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
